Bob Arnold and I spent several years selecting poems for this edition of Cid Corman’s work. Cid was a prolific writer; however, much of his work was out of print. Many of his books were limited, small press editions and difficult to find. Since Bob and I had both published books of Cid’s poetry, and as Bob was Cid’s literary executor, we had access to many rare collections of Cid’s work. The result was The Next One Thousand Years: Selected Poems of Cid Corman.
Longhouse Publishers released the collection of poems and translations in 2008. Jonathan Greene designed the book, and the cover features a photograph by Jonathan’s wife, the artist, Dobree Adams.
See Bob’s article about Cid and his comments about this collection in “The Man Who Always Was” in Jacket.
