Two Autumns Press, operated by Haiku Poets of Northern California, publishes an annual anthology containing haiku by four poets. I was invited to send in fifty poems, and the editor, Carolyn Hall, selected and arranged the poems that would appear in the 2013 anthology, The Color of Water.
The anthology was beautifully designed by poet and artist, Cherie Hunter Day. The title comes from a poem by Chiyo-ni (Kaga no Chiyo):
young grasses —
and between each blade
the color of water
(trans. Stephen Addiss)
It was an honor to be in the same collection as Gregory Longenecker, Eve Luckring, and Carolyne Rohrig.
